Vehicle Porter

Hudson Bus Sales is looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Vehicle Porter to join our Logistics team. The Vehicle Porter supports the Logistics Manager and Coordinator by ensuring vehicles are received, inspected, organized, and customer-ready. This role combines hands-on lot maintenance with vehicle quality control and is key to keeping our operations running smoothly.

What You’ll Do

• Vehicle Receiving & Check-Ins
• Inspect and receive new buses from manufacturers, noting any issues on delivery paperwork.
• Record vehicle information, take photos, and send check-in updates to team members.
• Final Inspections
• Complete pre-delivery inspections and photographs.
• Report issues and send final inspection details before customer delivery.
• Lot Maintenance
• Start and run all stock buses weekly, logging inspections.
• Maintain at least ¼ tank fuel levels, jump-start batteries, air tires, and update lot maps.
• Keep the lot clean, organized, and keys properly managed.
• Pickups & Deliveries
• Assist with local deliveries and pickups to customers, vendors, and other HBS locations.

What We’re Looking For

• Valid driver’s license (CDL Class B with Passenger endorsement preferred).
• Clean driving record.
• Basic vehicle maintenance ability (jump-starting, inflating tires, fueling).
• Strong problem-solving, organization, and time management skills.
• Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with solid written and verbal communication skills.

This person would be installing vinyl graphics to commercial vehicles, fleet vehicles, buses, boats, golf carts, box trucks, trailers and more. Our facility is climate controlled, and we use state-of-the-art print technology. Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 3 years of vinyl wrap installation experience
• Must pass a vinyl installation and measurement test.
• Must take exceptional pride in work and finished product.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Must be able to work independently and with little supervision.
• Must have excellent communication and listening skills.
• Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential.
• The ability to follow complex instructions is a plus.
• Must be knowledgeable and willing to operate in accordance with product manufacturers and company safety policies.
• PPF and window tinting installation and removal experience is a plus.
• Experience removing lights or other vehicle hardware is a plus.

Essential Job Functions

• Assist in prep of materials and install vinyl wraps, decals, or lettering to any type of vehicle including and up to large buses.
• Assure graphics installations adhere to manufacturer warranty standards
• Back up production work such as printing, laminating, cutting, and weeding vinyl.
• Employ intricate cutting and wrapping techniques.
• Review work orders and follow directions accordingly.
• Provides administrative team with detailed notes supporting the installations.
• Will work with management to ensure the appropriate levels of inventory are kept in warehouse.
• Willingness to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Maintain a neat, orderly, and safe work area.
• Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Physical Abilities

• Manual dexterity sufficient to grasp power and small hand tools.
• Ability to lift 10 pounds on a frequent basis and 50 pounds occasionally.
• Mobility requirements include frequent bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, pulling, crawling, climbing, and repetitive motions such as hammering.
• Use of ladders no higher than 4 feet.
• Able to stand for long periods of time

Work Environment

• We use state-of-the-art equipment throughout our graphics installation process.
• Time is spent inside and outside of vehicles.
• Working can require use of ladders and or scaffolding.
• Work environment is primarily climate controlled, indoors but some jobs can be completed outside.
• Must be willing to use required safety gear such as, gloves, safety glasses, close toed shoes, etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 to $25 per hour depending on experience
