Job Summary -Automotive Technician/Mechanic “A”

We are looking for an experienced automotive technician/mechanic to work on buses and vans in our Lewisville, Texas dealership.

Position Objectives:

  • Provide unmatched customer experiences while servicing customers’ vehicles.
  • Complete all work assigned adhering to the highest quality standards in the industry.
  • Perform thorough mechanical and safety inspections assuring our customers vehicles are fully functioning and safe.

Essential Job Functions

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, AC, or electrical issues and resolve them meeting quality and time standards.
  • Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability.
  • Provides service advisor/writer with detailed repair or estimate notes including parts or labor when necessary.
  • Ensures all safety policy and procedures are followed while on company time.
  • Work Independently and perform duties necessary in the field when mobile.
  • Follow all company or manufacturer service policies and procedures for service or warranty repairs.
  • Keep inventory levels of parts and supplies needed.
  • Maintain and protect all company tools and assets.
  • Keep work area or service vehicles clean and orderly.
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance while working with customers.
  • Must provide necessary tools to perform this job.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.
  • May be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week as business dictates.

Job Requirements:

  • Candidate must be a high school graduate or have a GED
  • 4 to 6 years of automotive experience as a mechanic or technician.
  • Must have recognized A/C Certification for recovery and recharge of mobile A/C systems
  • ASE certification in Brakes, Steering & Suspension preferred.
  • Candidate must have high level skills in electrical diagnosis and wiring diagram comprehension.
  • Candidate must have a CDL license with Passenger endorsements or able to obtain one within 8 months of employment.
  • Diesel automotive experience and welding experience is preferred.

Physical Abilities

  • Manual dexterity sufficient to grasp power and hand tools.
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds on a frequent basis and more than 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Mobility requirements include frequent bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, pulling, pushing, crawling and climbing.
  • Use of ladders to no higher than 4 feet.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Able to fit into tight spots, such as under a vehicle or in a far corner of an engine.

Work Environment

  • Time is spent inside and outside of vehicles.
  • Able to be exposed to various fluids such as oil, brake fluid, cleaning fluid, transmission fluid and other fluids and oils associated with engines and cars.
  • Time is spent working outside in both very hot and very cold weather.
  • Must be willing to wear required safety equipment like: gloves, eye, and ear protection.

This person would be installing vinyl graphics to commercial vehicles, fleet vehicles, buses, boats, golf carts, box trucks, trailers and more. Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of vinyl wrap installation experience
  • Must pass a vinyl installation and measurement test.
  • Must take exceptional pride in work and finished product.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must be able to work independently and with little supervision.
  • Must have excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • The ability to follow complex instructions is a plus.
  • Must be knowledgeable and willing to operate in accordance with product manufacturers and company safety policies.
  • PPF and window tinting installation and removal experience is a plus.
  • Experience removing lights or other vehicle hardware is a plus.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist in prep of materials and install vinyl wraps, decals, or lettering to any type of vehicle including and up to large buses.
  • Assure graphics installations adhere to manufacturer warranty standards
  • Back up production work such as printing, laminating, cutting, and weeding vinyl.
  • Employ intricate cutting and wrapping techniques.
  • Review work orders and follow directions accordingly.
  • Provides administrative team with detailed notes supporting the installations.
  • Will work with management to ensure the appropriate levels of inventory are kept in warehouse.
  • Willingness to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Maintain a neat, orderly, and safe work area.
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
